The house is in the countryside 1km from the charming village of Murs, which is north of Joucas and east of Gordes.
Murs is off the beaten track, an undiscovered gem of the Luberon with its medieval architecture and calm nature. The village has a food shop with bread, restaurant and a primary school.
It is said that the painters chose Gordes and Roussillon, the writers chose Lourmarin, and the wise chose Murs, and have kept quiet about it.
Close by are all the famed Luberon villages: Gordes, Menerbes, Roussillon, Lacoste, Oppede le vieux, Bonnieux, Goult, etc.
What we like about this house
- The view: This is a majestic, inspirational, panoramic view, one of the best Luberon vistas you could hope for.
- The design: The decor could do with a touch of modernisation, but the fundamentals are great, with a very homely, cosy feel.
- The setting: In 2.5 acres so typical of this part of the world, with terraced garden and pine woods – a peaceful haven.
- The annex: This gives a lot of options – it makes the house 5 bedrooms instead of 3; it can be used for holiday rentals; or it has also been used to live in when the main house was rented. It would also be ideal for a relative needing some independence.
Bear in mind
- Decor: The decor is showing its age and could do with sprucing up, and this is an opportunity to make the home your own.
